Durante la época más gloriosa de la ciudad llegaron a funcionar 30 ascensores, conectando a sus habitantes entre rieles que vislumbraban un futuro prometedor. Pero la falta de mantención y despreocupación, convirtieron a éste trasporte público y de bajo costo, en un objeto inútil y calamitoso. Hoy quedan cinco a manos del municipio y diez a cargo del Estado. Los vecinos se siguen preguntando si los 2 mil 400 millones invertidos para su recuperación el año 2012, los despojará de tanta ruina, oxido olvidado y desinterés.

During the most glorious time of the city, 30 lifts came to operate, connecting its inhabitants between rails that glimpsed a promising future. But the lack of maintenance and unconcern made this public and low cost transportation, a useless and calamitous object. Today, five are in the hands of the municipality and ten are in charge of the State. Neighbors are still wondering if the 2 billion 400 million invested for their recovery in 2012, will strip them of so much ruin, forgotten rust and disinterest.
